Choose an appropriate use
Use a temporary address to try a newsletter, check a form's confirmation email, or test a service you control. Ghostmail is for receiving mail in the browser; it does not send mail or act as a mail proxy. Do not use it for banking, health care, work, school, government services, password recovery, purchase records, or anything you may need again.
Start and use the session
Open Ghostmail and use the displayed address for the current 10-minute browser session. Copy the full address, including its domain, into the permitted form or test. Keep the page open while you wait, then return to the inbox. When finished, use cleanup from the open page; it deletes messages shown there and disconnects that browser session.
Read what you need, then finish
Messages are rendered as text, without remote images or attachments. Read the confirmation or test result you need and do not publish a screenshot that exposes an address or code. If the page was closed, timed cleanup cannot run at that time; return and retry it. A failed cleanup can leave an older session in place. Guerrilla Mail normally deletes mail after about one hour, not immediately.
Check the basics when mail is missing
Compare the address entered on the sending website against the current Ghostmail address, look for a copied typo, refresh the inbox, and confirm that the session has not ended. Some services block temporary-email domains, send only after another step, or delay mail. Ghostmail cannot override those policies or prove delivery. For a permitted test, send only a non-sensitive message from a service you control.
Keep the test low stakes
An address is not permanently deactivated after its session. It can remain reusable, and anyone who knows it may read messages sent there. Do not use temporary email to evade a site's rules, access restricted content, or receive another person's code. Do not rely on the address for later correspondence, because it may not present the same message history when you return. For a message that must stay private, remain available, or support account recovery, use a durable mailbox or persistent alias instead.
The short version
Use Ghostmail for a brief, permitted, non-sensitive receive-only test. Keep the page open, check the address carefully, clean up when done, and use a regular mailbox for anything important.
